Persib Bandung have signed former West Ham striker Carlton Cole as their second Marquee player to improve the squad.
The 33-year-old striker had already undergone medical tests in Jakarta and was unveiled at a press conference a few hours ago. Cole will wear the number 12 at his new club.
Persib Bandung’s manager Umuh Muchtar stated that Cole has agreed to join Persib after they recruited Michael Essien earlier this month.
“The negotiations were long because he wanted to know who Persib is. Once Essien is here, then he believes the potential of Persib.”
Carlton Cole began his career at Chelsea in 2001 before being transferred to West Ham United in 2006. He scored 51 goals in 289 Premier League appearances for four clubs.
His most recent stints were with Scottish champions Celtic and United Soccer League club Sacramento Republic (2016).
