Football Tribe Thailand
The Dragons started the 2020 season on fantastic form, winning all four of their first four games. They will be among the most disappointed at the extended break, which will see football return only in September. However, the squad Ratchaburi are building could make them a formidable force again when the league returns.
Wonderkid – Thanathon Chanphet
Like so many left-footers with a delicate touch and silky dribbling before him, the somewhat lazy Messi comparison will soon arise. The 18 yeas old outshined other talents in a 7-a-side and was quickly snatched up by Ratchaburi FC. Don’t expect to see much of Thanathon this season as Ratchaburi FC want to slowly adapt him to professional football but he is still an exciting talent to keep an eye out in the future nonetheless.
Key Signing – Chitpanya Tisud
If you are reminiscing for a classic number 10, then Chitpanya Tisud is your go-to guy. Injuries ruled him out for much of the 2019 season, which meant he was allowed to move for what appears to be a bargain price. Despite having yet to break into the Dragon’s start XI, if they can get the freekick-specialist fit and ready, Ratchaburi will have a real game-changer in hand that they can bring off the bench.
Team Leader – Philip Roller
The standout performer for Ratchaburi FC thus far, Philip Roller’s will to win and attacking intent earned his side a handful of valuable points, particularly the 4-3 comeback victory over Buriram United. Wearing the captain’s armband, Roller is a vocal presence on the pitch. As a fullback, few attackers have been seen outpacing the 25-year-old. As a winger, Roller will chase after every loose ball and the closed down opposition relentlessly. His contribution to the team has been crucial in their excellent start thus far.
