Vietnam

Vietnam Struggling to Finance Coach Park's Contract Extension (Fox Sports Asia)

The Vietnamese FA may struggle to find the funds to extend the contract of Park Hang-Seo and his support staff, according to reports. The FA relied on financial support from local entrepreneur Doan Nguyen Duc, chairman of Hoang Anh Gia Lai, to help pay for Park's contract, which is set to expire in January 2020. The FA may have to turn to help for the Vietnamese government in order to provide Park with improved terms for an extension.

Thailand

Former Japan Boss Akira Nishino Linked With Thailand Job (Football Tribe Asia)

Reports this week suggest that former Japan National Team coach Akira Nishino has publicly expressed interest in taking over as the new head coach of the Thai national team. The Thai FA have received his profile and are considering him for the job, along with other identified candidates, such South Korean coach Yoon Jong-Hwan and local manager Totchtawan Sripan.

Pahang Goal Makes International News (The Guardian)

Pahang player Herold Goulon scored an unbelievable goal at the Darul Makmur Stadium in Kuantan last weekend with a stunning long-range free-kick. In the last minute of their FA Cup semi-final match against Perak, Pahang were awarded a freekick inside their own half. Goulon's unexpected shot caught the goalkeeper off his line and sealed a 3-1 win for his side.

Indonesia

PSSI Secretary General Appointed AFF Vice President (ASEAN Football)

PSSI General Secretary, Ratu Tisha Destria (second from left in the photo) was announced as one of AFF Vice-Presidents for the 2019-2023 cycle. The news was announced in Luang Prabang, Laos at the AFF Extraordinary Congress last Saturday.

This is a new history for Indonesian football and ASEAN football because Ms. Tisha is will be the first woman to become one of the AFF's VPs. Alongside with Ms. Tisha, the new VPs also include HRH Prince Sufri (President of National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam), Mr. Lim Kia Tong (President of the FA of Singapore) and Dato’ Sri Francisco Kalbuadi Lay (Timor Leste). Dato' Sri Fransisco was already elected on March, while all of new VP will be officially inaugurated at the AFF Awards Night this November in Hanoi.
