Marcus Rashford marked his Barcelona debut with a 33-minute cameo in their 3-1 friendly win over J.League 1 leaders Vissel Kobe at Misaki Park Stadium on July 27.
The England forward, on a season-long loan from Manchester United, was introduced at the start of the second half as part of 11 wholesale changes by the La Liga champions. Despite only spending half an hour on the pitch, the 27-year-old made his presence felt, assisting Barcelona’s second goal before being substituted in the 78th minute.
Rashford made way for 17-year-old Dro Fernandez, who later sealed the win with an 87th-minute strike.
Earlier, defender Eric Garcia had opened the scoring for Barcelona in the 33rd minute, only for Taisei Miyashiro to draw Vissel level just before the break. The hosts fielded a full-strength side, but Barcelona regained the lead shortly after the restart when Swedish forward Roony Bardghji — a recent signing from FC Copenhagen — converted a fine assist from Rashford.
The fixture had originally been called off due to what Barcelona described as “serious contractual breaches” by the local promoter. However, the issues were resolved in time for the match to go ahead as scheduled.
