Ramadhan Sananta Set for DPMM Switch

Persis Solo and Indonesia national team forward Ramadhan Sananta is set to become the latest Indonesian player to venture overseas, with the 22-year-old lined up for a move to Bruneian side DPMM FC ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The transfer was officially confirmed on May 19 via DPMM’s website, which stated that Sananta will join the squad following the conclusion of the 2024/25 Liga 1 Indonesia campaign later this month.

After spending the 2024/25 season competing in the Singapore Premier League, DPMM will return to the Liga Super Malaysia for the first time in 17 years next season. Aware of the elevated competition in Malaysia’s top flight—particularly from regional powerhouses such as Johor Darul Ta’zim and Selangor—DPMM have proactively begun strengthening their squad ahead of the switch.

Sananta will be one of the club’s first two signings for the new campaign, joining alongside former Penang FC left-back Fairuz Zakaria. While Sananta will fill the club’s ASEAN quota slot, Fairuz—being Malaysian—will count as a local player alongside DPMM’s core of Bruneian talent.

In addition to Sananta and Fairuz, DPMM are also reportedly targeting Japanese striker Tomoyuki Doi from Geylang International. Meanwhile, the recent exits of Perak FC and Sri Pahang FC from the Liga Super could present DPMM with opportunities to sign experienced Malaysian free agents.

Sananta’s move ensures that Indonesia will continue to have representation in the Liga Super Malaysia next season. His arrival comes as Sabah FC winger Saddil Ramdani confirmed his departure in April, while the future of Indonesian-American forward Johan Muliadi at Kelantan Darul Naim remains uncertain.
