Sudani-Indonesian wonderkid Meshaal Hamzah became the latest Indonesian player to join the Thai League after his loan move from Persija Jakarta to relegation-battling Nakhon Pathom United was announced on Monday.
Meshaal will join the King Tigers for the second-half of the Thai League 1 season, linking up with Malaysian duo Fergus Tierney and Muhammad Khalil at Nakhon Pathom United as the club seek to escape the drop this season.
Previously, Meshaal had spent the first half of the season on loan at PSBS Biak, making just two appearances with the Badai Pasifik before his tenure there was cut-short by Persija.
With his young age and potential in defense, it’s hoped that Meshaal could gain some valuable lessons and playing time underneath Nakhon Pathom United head coach Thongchai Sukkoki, the same man that brought the King Tigers from the lowest tier of Thai professional football to the top-flight, as he seek to keep them afloat in the Thai League 1 in his second tenure at the club.
Meshaal became the fourth Indonesian to join a Thai League club, following the success that Asnawi Mangkualam had at Port FC, as well as Pratama Arhan rediscovering his touch with True Bangkok United.
The third player was Ronaldo Kwateh, who was loaned out by Muangthong United to Thai League 2 side Mahasarakham SBT.
