Borneo FC Samarinda have completed their ASEAN quota for the 2023/24 season with the signing of talented young striker Win Naing Tun from Burmese giants Yangon United. The 23-year old is set to become the first player from Myanmar to play in the Indonesian top-flight.
Win, who was top scorer of the 2018 AFF U-19 Youth Championship in Indonesia, was signed by Borneo on an undisclosed transfer fee from 5-time Myanmar top-flight champions Yangon United.
“I congratulate Win Naing Tun on joining the Borneo FC family and his presence adds to the attack options for next season,” said Borneo president Nabil Husein in an official statement posted in the club’s website.
Having retained star striker Matheus Pato and midfielder Kei Hirose, Borneo have adequately reinforced their foreign quota with tough defender Leo Lelis, Dutch striker Jelle Goselink, and Win himself. The Pesut Etam have also drafted in a number of talented local players in goalkeeper Nadeo Argawinata, defender Rizky Dwi Febrianto, and midfielders Ikhsan Zikrak and Adittia Gigis.
