Johor Darul Ta’zim made it 12 wins out of 12 after they saw off Sri Pahang FC 2-0 at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on Wednesday night, putting an end to the Tok Gajah‘s own unbeaten record.
Wednesday’s Liga Super Malaysia action saw the only two teams yet to lose a game after 11 rounds going up against one another at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, with JDT having won all eleven of their games so far while Pahang won seven and drew four of theirs.
Fandi Ahmad’s Tok Gajah side put up an admirable fight against their seemingly unstoppable opponents, keeping the Southern Tigers at arm’s length until Bergson finally broke the deadlock for JDT in the second minute of stoppage time.
Fernando Forestieri then sealed the win for JDT in the 74th minute, scoring his 13th goal of the season as he equaled his tally from the last campaign, halfway through the current season.
The win further cemented JDT’s place in the Liga Super summit, while Pahang remain third, three points off 2nd placed Selangor FC who edged out Kedah Darul Aman 3-2 on the same day.
