Following his departure from Bali United, Indonesia international goalkeeper Nadeo Argawinata has found his new club for the 2023/24 season – Borneo FC Samarinda.
Nadeo, who started his professional career in 2016 at Borneo as a 19-year old, is set for a return to the Pesut Etam, after three years at Bali United that saw him win the 2021/22 Liga 1 Indonesia title.
After the decision was made to release Nadeo following the expiration of his Serdadu Tridatu contract, Borneo quickly swooped in to secure his signature, tying the shot-stopper down to a 3-year contract.
“I think Borneo FC is one of the best teams in Liga 1 right now, so there’s no reason not to play for them,” said Nadeo in an interview for the Borneo FC official YouTube channel, “I am also close to my family here, having children and my wife will definitely add to my motivation to play for the club.”
“I want to try to win the Liga 1 with a different club,” Nadeo continued, “It must be a challenge in itself and I am motivated too. It was also my goal to come to Borneo FC to make this team a champion.”
Nadeo will compete for the Pesut Etam‘s starting goalkeeper position with Angga Saputro and youngster Daffa Fasya, and was Borneo’s third new signing after midfielders Adittia Gigis (FC Bekasi City) and Ikhsan Zikrak (RANS Nusantara FC).
