Kylian Mbappé to stay put with PSG for the 2021-22 season

The latest news is out that the future of Kylian Mbappé appears to have been resolved, at least for the remainder of this season. It has been reported that the listless 22-year-old striker will remain with Paris Saint-Germain to serve out the final year of his contract.

According to La Cadena Ser (via Paris Fans), PSG sporting director Leonardo has told the capital club locker room that Mbappé will stay with the Ligue 1 side this season, with the report further detailing that that the player has also assured his inner circle in the locker room that he will stay this season.

The sources of the information also confirm that Leonardo gave his assurance in his negotiations this summer that Mbappé would be in the team this year.

While recent reports persisted that Real Madrid wanted to make an offer for the France international, it seems now their pursuit might have to wait another year to bear fruit as the elephant still in the room is whether he’ll extend his contract or leave for Los Blancos on a free transfer next summer despite Mbappé reportedly deciding to stick around this season.

With the forward now having opted to remain for the meantime, PSG and Messi fans will be able to look forward to the scintillating attack that will feature probably the most feared attack formation in the history of football ever – Mbappé, Neymar and Lionel Messi.
