Lionel Messi open to staying for another year – but wants one player sold

Latest reports allege that Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi is open to the idea of staying at Camp Nou for at least another season – but there’s one player in particular that he wants gone.

The Argentine wizard’s contract with the Catalan giants is due to expire at the end of the season and despite his age has proven in recent weeks that he’s still playing at the top of his game, so there’d be no shortage of interest from Europe’s elite for his signature if he were to depart Camp Nou.

However, as per DiarioGol, Messi is reportedly open to the idea of prolonging his stay at the Nou Camp for at least another year, but apparently with conditions which he wants met.

DiarioGol reports that Messi has been unimpressed with the acquisition of Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool and wants newly elected president Joan Laporta to sell him.

The report also notes that Coutinho’s market value hovers around €50M – although, considering his dismal form of late, that does sound pretty hopeful.
