Malaysia international forward Mohamadou Sumareh has officially completed a move from Pahang FA to Police Tero in Thai League 1.
Mohamadou Sumareh, who was born in Gambia and is a naturalized Malaysian citizen, has completed a move from Malaysia Super League side Pahang FA to Thai League outfit Police Tero on a permanent transfer.
The forward has earned 19 caps for Malaysia and has already established himself as a fan favorite, scoring 6 goals and consistently making vital contributions in attack for Harimau Malaya.
Sumareh will join up with fellow Malaysian Dominic Tan at the Boonyachinda Stadium, who joined the club from JDT midway through last season during Tero’s promotion campaign from T2.
Police Tero has a storied history in Thai football under their former name, BEC Tero. The side won back-to-back Thai League titles in 2000 and 2001 and was the breeding for a number of Thai National Team stars, including Chanathip Songkrasin, Tanaboon Kesarat, and Adisorn Promrak.
Although many expected them to battle against relegation this season, the Fire Dragons currently sit 5th in the Thai League after an excellent start prior to the COVID-19 break. With their existing squad and this recent move, it appears that the side has what it takes to significantly outperform expectations this season.
