Samut Prakan City sign Singapore international goalkeeper Izwan Mahbud from Trat FC ahead of the Thai League restart
Thai League 1 side Samut Prakan City have unveiled yet another singing during the summer transfer window, securing a deal for goalkeeper Izwan Mahbud from Trat FC.
The Singaporean international has considerable experience playing in Thailand already, having spent two seasons with Nongbua Pitchaya in T2 before joining Trat FC in the top division at the start of the 2020 campaign.
Izwan Mahbud will provide competition to first-choice goalkeeper Patiwat Khammai. The side struggled massively when the Number 1 was injured for large swathes of last season and will benefit massively from having Izwan on the books.
Samut Prakan City have developed a reputation for shrewd acquisitions, having already recruited Barros Tardeli, Jaturapat Sattham and Jakkit Laptrakul during the extended league break.
The side currently sit 14th in the Thai League after only collecting just one point from their opening four games, but with their new signings and former J.League winning coach Masatada Ishii at the helm, things are expected to improve for Samut Prakan City.
