French champions PSG and German side RB Leipzig have advanced to the semi-finals of the 2020-21 UEFA Champions League, after dispatching Atalanta and Atletico Madrid respectively.
PSG continue the hunt for their first-ever Champions League crown and are now in the last four thanks to their victory over Italian underdogs Atalanta in Lisbon.
The Serie A side took the lead in the first half thanks to a goal from midfielder Mario Pasalic, and did well to deny the Parisiens opportunities to score. However, the French champions refused to be beaten. Brazilian defender Marquinhos scored an equalizer in the final minute of normal time, and substitute Choupo-Moting netted in stoppage time to complete the dramatic comeback.
Elsewhere, German side RB Leipzig pulled off an upset victory over two-time finalists Atletico Madrid. Julian Nagelsmann’s side took the lead through Dani Olmo in the second half, only to be pegged back by a penalty from young Portuguese star Joao Felix.
However, an 88th-minute goal from substitute Tyler Adams, which found its way into the back of the net after a major deflection, saw the Red Bulls pull off a major upset.
The two remaining quarter-final clashes see Barcelona take on Bayern Munich while Manchester City face Lyon.
