How do you divide up the responsibility for decisions between yourself and the board/club executives?
At Ayutthaya, we talked and they gave me “full power,” they only support. But, they say that they will give their support, but I must give good results also. This is fair.
You have said that you will use your relationship with Muangthong United to help recruit players for the team – how has that process been going so far?
With the young players, when they don’t have a chance to play, they try to speak with me. Because I stay in T2, they know the quality of them for the young players. They want to show [their talent], because they are not that young already. Some players are 22 or 23 years old, and they want to play [regularly]. They know me, [my method] of training and everything. They try to call me, and I say that if you have a contract, I can’t bring you. That is why they try to [come] on loan or when they finish their contract they try to call me. They want to play in T2, and they will have a chance to play because I know the quality of the players, and the players know me.
It was reported that you are planning to set up your own academy. Please tell us more about this, and what your plan will be for your own academy
In football, for a coach, we don’t know what will happen. One day you could wake up and [it’s] finished. I must have my own business, which is why we made an academy in Bangkok. But we have a coach for the academy to take care when we go for away games or take training in Ayutthaya.
