Pep Guardiola Wanted Back at Barcelona

Pep Guardiola is wanted back at former club Barcelona by club presidential candidate Joan Laporta, as per this report by the Guardian.

The current Manchester City manager is a Catalonia native who made his name at the Blaugrana, both as a player and a manager.

After being promoted from the side’s B team, Guardiola ushered in a new generation of talents and arguably revolutionized the game with his possession-based football.

Laporta, who was previously the club president from 2003 to 2010, had worked with Guardiola before during an incredibly successful period in the club’s history.

Guardiola’s Barcelona won 14 trophies in his four-season spell at the club, including 3 La Liga titles and 4 Champions Leagues between 2008 and 2012.

With Manchester City currently set to be banned from the Champions League due to a breach of Financial Fair Play regulations, there has been growing speculation that Guardiola may soon leave the club having already conquered English football with back-to-back title wins during the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons.
