The agent of Thailand star Chanathip Songkrasin has revealed that the attacking midfielder has “an opportunity” to play in the Spanish La Liga, according to this report from Siamsport.

However, the article stops short of revealing the details of any potential offer, or which club is interested in signing the Consadole Sapporo star.

A move to Spain would see him follow in the footsteps of Thai teammate Teerasil Dangda, who has a short loan spell with Almeria in 2014, where he made six appearances for the La Liga side.

Chanathip is preparing to start his third full season in Japan, having been anointed into the J.League team of the Year in 2018 and following that up with another strong showing in 2019.

However, his club Consadole only managed a tenth-placed finish, a significant downgrade from the impressive fourth they achieved the year prior.

The report also mentions that Consadole paid €2.5m to Muangthong United in order to secure the services of Chanathip, implying that they will likely drive a hard bargain to make back that fee and compensate for the commercial value he brings to the team.
