Selangor is one of the Malaysian Super League sides that has actively progressed in rebuilding the team. Undisputedly, the new management is showing a good action in handling the team. Last season, Selangor reached the Malaysian Cup semi-final before being knocked out by Johor Darul Ta’zim and finished third in the Malaysian Super League.

In order to build on those results, the Red Giants have been recruiting some new players in preparation for the new season. Number of football stars from the rival team were coming to Shah Alam. The likes of Brendan Gan, Safwan Baharuddin, Nick Swirad, Nor Hakim Hassan, and Rodney Celvin Akwensivie will definitely boost the quality of the Selangor squad.

The combination of new and experienced players will make the side interesting to watch next season. In addition, head coach B. Sathianathan needs to do something with the tactical set up in order to achieve their goals in 2020.

The current squad consists of great talents including Syahmi Safari, Khairul Azhan, Sean Selvaraj, and Abdul Halim Saari could also bring a positive impact to the team. Judging from their strength, Selangor is really looking forward to competing with other teams like Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) and Kedah.

As they aim for an Asian Champions League spot, Selangor will need to win either Super League or FA Cup in order to make those goals come true. It could be tough but the side have certainly shown the desire to achieve it.
