Buriram United have announced all three of their new foreign signings ahead of the 2020 season as they intend to fight back and reclaim the Thai League crown.

Argentinian striker Bernardo Cuesta, Brazilian forward Ricardo Bueno, and South Korean defensive midfielder Jung Jae-Yong have all joined the Thunder Castle ahead of the upcoming season.

Bernardo Cuesta joins on the back of a successful campaign in the Peruvian league with FBC Melgar, where he finished as the division’s top scorer with 27 goals. This transfer was initially reported soon after the end of the 2019 season and has finally come through after a long wait.

Ricardo Bueno joins the club after spending a season with two different clubs in the Brazilian Serie A. He spent the first half of the season at Ceara Sporting Club, where he managed three goals and two assists in six appearances. He then moved to Centro Sportivo Alagoano, where he managed four goals from 22 appearances.

Lastly, their AFC quota will be filled by Jung Jae-Yong from Pohang Steelers. He will be Buriram’s third different Asian player in three seasons, as both Yoo Jun-Soo and Hajime Hosogai departed the club after a single season. Most adept as a defensive midfielder, Jae-Yong joined Pohang Steelers last season, where he played 25 out of a possible 29 games with the side and captained them on four occasions.

All of these signings are a statement of intent from the 2018 champions, who are out to win back their crown in what is shaping up to be a very competitive field next season.
