Fulham Midfielder Ben Davis Chooses to Represent Thailand

Fulham FC youngster Ben Davis has officially chosen to represent Thailand at international level, and has been called up for the side’s 2019 SEA Games Squad.

Born in Phuket to a Thai mother and British father, Davis grew up Singapore, where he was eventually scouted by prestigious English club Fulham FC 2017.

While being able to represent Thailand, England, and Singapore, the midfielder initially chose to represent the latter and featured for the side’s U16 and U19 sides.

However, Davis defaulted on his National Service commitments as a Singaporean citizen, choosing instead to remain in Fulham’s academy and continue to push for a place in the first team. As a result, his opportunity to represent the Lions was revoked, leading him to choose the War Elephants as his national side.

The 18-year-old made his debut for Fulham in the first round of the Carabao Cup earlier this season against Southampton. He is currently competing with Fulham’s U23 side in the youth competition known as the Premier League 2.
