Ansarifard named as Persepolis new president

Persepolis former defender Mohammad Hassan Ansarifar has been appointed as the club new president.

Tehran red giant have won Iran league title for three season in a row but Ansarifar is their fourth president in recent years.

This is Ansarifard second stint at the club as president. He had been at the office from 2005 to 2007 but left the club after failing to win domestic league.

He now has replaced Iraj Arab who has resigned today just after 8 months in charge.

Ansarifard has played for Persepolis as left back from 1985 to1992 and also won 14 caps for Iran national team.

He has also been Iran futsal national team manager for a while.
