Iran Pro league fixtures announced; Tehran derby on matchday 4

The full list of fixtures for the new Iran league season have been announced and defending champions Persepolis will start new season with home match against Pars Jonubi Jam.

Tehran Red giant have won Iran league title for three seasons in a row under Croatian Branko Ivankovic but he left the club at the end of last and Argentina Gabriel Calderon has replaced him.

Calderon’s side kick off the new season at home but they will have played three big clashes until fixture 5.

Their most important match in opening weeks will be Tehran Derby in week 4 where they pit against old enemy Esteghlal at Azadi stadium.

With Italian manager Andrea Stramaccioni on the bench, Esteghlal travel to Tabriz in first week to face Mashin sazi and before encounter against Persepolis, they face Foolad Khozestan and Naft-e-Masjed Soleyman.

Despite the announcement of the fixtures, Iran league 2019-20 start date is unclear. however rumors claimed it will take place on Monday Aug. 19.  Iran Football Federation has warned the competition will be suspended unless all stadiums have full security and complete infrastructures.
