Former Sampdoria defender in Esteghlal radar

Tehran Blue giant Esteghlal set to sign former Sampdoria defender Daniel Pavlovic.

Esteghlal have recruited ex-Inter Milan manager Andrea Stramaccioni this summer and he is trying to strengthen his side with Serie A players.

They have recently signed former Benevento striker Cheick Diabaté and now are searching for a new defender to improve their vulnerable back line.

Pavlovic has played for Frosinone and Crotone as well and could play in center and left side of defense line. The 31-year-old defender also has had 2 caps for Bosnia and Herzegovina in his resume.

Esteghlal squad changed significantly this summer and they lost 16 players including four defenders who had been playing regularly last season.

If Pavlovic joins Esteghlal, he will be their ninth signing in 2019 summer. However, he has offer from Hellas Verona and Esteghlal have a tall order to convince him to play in Iran pro league.
