Takehiro Tomiyasu Signs For Bologna FC

Italian Serie A side Bologna FC announced the signing of Japan international Takehiro Tomiyasu from Belgian first division side Sint-Truidense.

Bologna’s official announcement and press release did not include details of the contract, but various media outlets have reported that the player has signed a 5-year contract, running through until 2024.

The amount that the club will pay at Sint-Truidense is reported to be €10m, which is broken down into a €7m initial fee, with add-ons and bonuses totaling €3m.

At age 20, Tomiyasu is one of Japan’s brightest up-and-coming talents. He most recently represented the Samurai Blues at two major tournaments in 2019 – the AFC Asian Cup and the Copa America. The center-back is also expected to be an integral part of the nation’s 2020 Olympic team.

Fans in Japan are excited by the prospect of Tomiyasu representing Bologna in the Serie A, which is one of the world’s top leagues.
