Despite strengthening their squad before the start of the season Ratchaburi FC find themselves just two points above the relegation zone heading into the second leg of the reason. Having survived by only a single point last season, the Dragons are eager to avoid a repeat by shuffling their foreign player roster.

Ratchaburi have loaned in Korean defensive midfielder Yoo Jun-Soo from Pohang Steelers. The versatile player made a good impression at Buriram last season, where he was used in a variety of different positions to plug holes in the squad. However, he was deemed surplus to requirements at Pohang, where he has only featured sparingly, opening up the door for a temporary return to the Thai League.

His arrival has meant that the club has parted ways with his countryman Kang Soo-Il.

Additionally, the Dragons have added Ivorian winger Lossemy Karaboue to their squad, who arrives in Thailand after a spell with FC Botosani in the Romanian league. It remains to be seen how Ratchaburi will shuffle their roster to accommodate his arrival, as both of Ratchaburi’s current foreign attackers, Yannick Boli and Steeven Langil, have done well in the league this season.

However, the most notable transfer move may just be the departure of captain Chutipol Thongtae. The midfielder has played over 150 games for Ratchaburi since joining in 2013, which was their first season in Thailand’s top division. Amid the constantly changing managerial situation and foreign player roster, local players like Chutipol have been important in bringing stability to the club.
