J.League side Vissel Kobe have appointed former Hamburger SV and Grasshopper Zurich boss Thorsten Fink to be their new manager, as stated in this report from the Japan Times.
Owned by Japanese tech giants Rakuten, Vissel have been making major strides in the transfer market in recent seasons, sealing deals for the likes of Andres Iniesta and David Villa to join the club.
However, the side has struggled this season, and find themselves just outside the relegation zone having accumulated 14 points from their opening 14 games. As such, coach Juan Manuel Lillo departed the club back in April, leaving former player Takayuki Yoshida in temporary charge.
The side was heavily linked to a shock move for former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger according to various reports. However, it seems the club have ultimately settled on Thorsten Fink to take their side forward and recover from what has been a disappointing the start to the season.
