Perak finally managed to show their status as the champion of the Malaysia Cup when they were able to easily defeat PKNP FC 4-0 at the Manjung Municipal Council Stadium last night. In fact, the scoreline could have been even more emphatic if import striker Gilmar da Silva managed to put away his penalty kick in the 86th minute. Perak coach, Mehmed Durakovic, was happy that his team performed well by dominating the game from start to finish.

Meanwhile, in Darul Makmur, Pahang failed to take advantage of a golden opportunity to reach the top of the Malaysian Super League. The Elephants played out a 1-1 draw with the league leaders Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) at home.

JDT played with 10 players during the second half when import defender Mauricio Nascimento was sent off by referee Zohri Tajuddin, for collecting a second yellow card just before the break. However, Pahang failed to use this opportunity to find a winning goal. The draw leaves Pahang two points behind the Southern Tigers, missing a great chance in their chase to prevent the defending champions from running away with yet another league title.

Kedah FA Coach Aidil Sharin Sahak said his side failed to take their chances and pick up all three points when they faced Selangor on Friday night, in a game that ended in a 1-1 draw at the Stadium Darul Aman.

Meanwhile, Selangor coach, B Sathianathan, was also disappointed with his team performance. According to him, the absence of import players Rufino Segovia and Endrick Dos Santos was the main reason why they didn’t perform well against Kedah.
