Knockout Stage Lineup Complete for 2019 Asian Cup

The group stage of the 2019 AFC Asian Cup has come to a close, with 16 remaining teams ready to battle it out for continental supremacy.

Jordan opens up the second round of matches with their game against Vietnam on Sunday. The Golden Stars progressed on the tightest of possible margins, beating out Lebanon in terms of their disciplinary ranking to edge them into the knockout stage.

Thailand, who too sneaked into the second round after holding out for an impressive 1-1 draw against the UAE, will take on Marcelo Lippi’s China. In the day’s late game, highly-rated Iran will take on Oman.

Monday sees two heavyweight clashes, as Japan take on World-Cup Qualifiers Saudi Arabia while Australia face a stern test in the form of Uzbekistan after failing to top their group.

Hosts UAE take on debutants Kyrgyzstan, while on Tuesday South Korea face Bahrain, and Qatar and Iraq meet to close off the round.
