Hanoi and Perak to Compete in Thai ‘Leo Cup’ Tournament

V.League Champions Hanoi FC and Malaysia Super League runners-up Perak FA will be among the first foreign teams to compete in Thailand’s most prestigious pre-season tournament in 2019.

The tournament, known as the Leo Cup for sponsorship reasons, regularly hosts the nation’s most prestigious teams. This year, 16 sides will participate in the competition, with four of them coming from abroad.

Muangthong United, Port FC and Chiangrai United are amongst the most prestigious local participants. They will be joined by Laos Premier League Champions Lao Toyota FC and Cambodian Champions Phnom Penh Crown.

Perak FA and Hanoi FC will present major challenges for the local sides, as they will use this tournament to prepare for their upcoming AFC Champions League campaigns.
