INDONESIA: In Ramadan, three commotions takes place in Go-Jek Liga 1

It is a tough month for PSSI because of the commotions that took place in Go-Jek Liga 1. In Ramadan, three commotions occurred between fans or the players on the pitch.

The first commotion occurred in the match between PSM Makassar and Borneo FC. Borneo players, who were not satisfied with referee’s decision which led to the winning goal of the host, ran to the referee and protested after the final whistle. PSSI discipline commission punished both of the teams and Borneo’s striker, Titus Bonai, got the toughest punishment with a four-match ban and Rp.50m fine.

The second commotion came in the match between Bali United and Persib Bandung. After the final whistle, there was commotion between players and it was reported that the incident occurred because they were frustrated with the result of the game, which finished with a 0-0 score. This time there is no punishment for both of the clubs.

The latest commotion came on Sunday when Persija Jakarta met with Persebaya Surabaya. Before the match started, there was a fight between both teams’ supporter and the security forces tried to break the fight. Because of the commotion, the match was canceled and until now, both teams are still waiting for the decision from PT LIB, the organizers of Liga 1, whether they will count it as a win for Persebaya or the match will be rescheduled.
