Korea’s manager Shin Tae-yong chose Park Joo-ho and Lee Yong. Park has recently returned to K League from Bundesliga, and Lee just recovered injury, which made fans question Shin’s decision.
Both rewarded his faith throughout the match. On 6 minutes, Park, who received a pass from Lee on the right flank, made a thru pass to Kwon Chang-hoon to break the defense. Kwon scored the opener.
Jang Hyun-soo, however, made another mistake and did not live up to Shin’s expectation. FC Tokyo’s defender has been called up frequently inspite of fans’ criticism. In the 85th minute, Jang failed to mark Paul Smyth in the air, leading to the winning goal, which was conceded in a smiliar way when playing against Jamaica.
