By Rajarshi

That’s it. The finale is here.Four teams, three matches across three cities separated by a faraway geographical distance will witness the finish to the most tantalizing finale to the Hero I-league as four teams go into the matchday with a chance to win it if equations are in their favor.

With the arrival of the glamorous big money ISL, the Hero I-League has been reduced to the status of a foster child of Indian football.

I-League faithful have always been loyal to the support of close to century-old clubs like Mohun Bagan and East Bengal while new forces emerge in the form of Shillong Lajong FC, Aizawl FC and latest additions like NEROCA FC to challenge their legacy.

Far away from the glitterati of ISL, thousands of these faithful fans from Kolkata, Manipur and Punjab would be descending to stadiums or be glued to TV on Thursday with the hope to witness their teams emerge as Champions.

Post 90 minutes there will be celebrations, tears of joy on one side while heartbreaks and tears of grief await for the other three sides. That is inevitable.

The emotions will be possibly a little high for the age-old Kolkata teams as the dust is due to settle on the invigorating finish the I League is due coming Thursday.
