Former Adelaide United star Bruce Djite joins PSM Makassar

Ex-Adelaide United star Bruce Djite has officially joined PSM Makassar, the Indonesian club announced on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old forward became the latest high-profile signing for Indonesian football since former Chelsea hero Michael Essien and Liverpool ace Mohamed Sissoko played in the Liga 1 last season.

Djite has agreed a two-year deal as his transfer was announced at Aryaduta Hotel Makassar along with several local new signings.

“We confirmed that Bruce Djite has signed two years contract and we gladly announced his arrival today,” Munafri Arifuddin, the CEO of PSM told reporters.

Djite, who has been a free agent since leaving South Korean club Suwon FC, won the A-League championship in 2015-16 with Adelaide United.

He also played for Australia national team nine times, with his last international appearance was in August 2010 when Socceroos lost 2-0 in a friendly against Slovenia.
