JDT sign Brazilian defender Bruno Gabriel Soares

Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) announced that they have completed the signing of Brazilian defender Bruno Gabriel Soares from Israeli club Hapoel Tel Aviv.

JDT announced their new signing on the club’s official Facebook page Johor Southern Tigers on Saturday night.

In a statement, JDT stated that Soares will be put on “standby” to replace Marcos Antonio, who has been recovering from the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury since July, in case he cannot be ready to play in time.

“Bruno is our new defender who hails from Brazil. We have put him as a `standby’ player just in case Marcos Antonio cannot return to full fitness in time.

“For now he will most likely play for JDT II and will only play for the main squad when needed,” added the statement, as reported by the New Straits Times.

With the experience gained in the Brazilian, German, Norwegian and Israeli leagues, Soares is expected to strengthen the defense of JDT next season.
