The 2019 Asian Cup qualifying matches between North Korea and Malaysia will take place in New I-Mobile Stadium, which is the home turf of Buriram United, as announced by Asian Football Confederation (AFC) on Thursday.
North Korea’s “home” match will take place on 10 November and both teams will play the return fixture three days later.
The original match day had been postponed twice due to political tensions between both countries, which leads to a ban by the Malaysian Government on its citizens traveling to North Korea.
Both sides are struggling in Group B of qualifying for the Asian Cup finals. While North Korea are standing on third place, Malaysia will need to earn both victories over the Eastern Asia opponents to escape from the bottom position.
