Chinese side Meixian Techand celebrate promotion by posing with mountain of cash

Chinese League Two’s side Meixian Techand have been celebrating promotion to the Chinese second tier with their players posing with mountains of cash.

Meixian Techand secured their place in China League One next season after claiming a 1-0 victory over Shenzhen Ledman on Sunday.

Ye Weichao scored the only goal of the game in a 3-1 aggregate win in a promotion playoff.

According to Sports Illustrated, each player is understood to have received a bonus of almost £3 m for their promotion.

The club was founded in July 2003 and gained entry to participate within the 2003–04 Hong Kong First Division League as a foreign team.

However, they only spent one season within the Hong Kong league before switching to the Chinese league system in 2005 where they started within the third tier.
