Nelo Vingada: Playing in Thailand will be an advantage to Malaysia

Malaysia coach Nelo Vingada believes in a victory against North Korea following the decision by Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to hold both 2019 Asian Cup qualifying matches between two teams in Thailand.

“I do not want to say whether playing in Thailand will be an advantage to Malaysia but it certainly cuts travel time (for the first round match). The weather in Thailand is similar to ours compared to Pyongyang, which is now cold,” said Vingada on Tuesday, as quoted by the New Straits Times.

The first match on November 10 will be designated as the North Korea home match, with the second match three days later deemed to be the Malaysia home fixture.

Vingada has been on fire following the dismal performance of his side recently. In 2019 Asian Cup qualifying campaign, Malaysia sit bottom of Group B on one point from three matches.
