Thierry Chantha Bin pays tribute to former Cambodia coach Vitorino

Thierry Chantha Bin has paid tribute to former Cambodia national team head coach Leonardo Vitorino after the Brazilian parted ways with the team on Thursday.

First, [I] want to thank all of them [Leonardo Vitorino and his two coaching staff] for the hard work and try to help Cambodian football as much as they can,” Thierry told TheMorning.

“I’m very sad because I know they give their best, but we couldn’t get the result we should get.

“I wish them all the best and a successful career.”

Vitorino was handed the coaching post of Cambodia national team, replacing the South Korean tactician Lee Tae-hoon in March 2017.

Despite his promise and efforts to develop Cambodia youth football, he struggled at the helm of the senior national side with only one win over Afghanistan in the 2019 Asian Cup qualification this July.
