Thailand FA appoint Zoran Jankovic as U23 head coach

Thailand national team assistant Zoran Jankovic has been appointed to lead the U-23’s squad, according to reports from Bangkok Post.

The Serbian has replaced Worawoot Srimakha, who turns to support him as the assistant coach. Milovan Rajevac, coach of Thailand’s full national team, will be the adviser to the U-23 side.

Srimakha completed his duty of guiding Thailand U-22 to SEA Games gold medal for a record seventh time, making the Young War Elephants the most successful among ASEAN football teams.

However, the formal Thailand international informed the FAT that he wanted to step down and only serve as an assistant coach of the side.

Meanwhile, FAT technical cheif Witthaya Laohakul revealed that he initially wanted Rajevac to also take charge of the U23 team, but the Serbian turned down the offer as he wants to focus on the senior national team.
