Nelo Vingada aims to reverse negative results ahead of Hong Kong qualifier

Malaysia head coach Nelo Vingada has aimed to reverse the negative results that haunted his men ahead of the AFC Asian Cup qualifier against Hong Kong on Tuesday night.

“We played well in the previous three games and we are improving, but we are missing that (finishing) solution in our team. However, I don’t want to bring that solution (only) for the strikers; the solution is for the (whole) team,” Vingada said in the pre-match press conference on Monday, as quoted by Bernama.

“I believe that all players including the strikers are the best goal scorers. For example, Safiq Rahim (midfielder) is a proven goal scorer for his club and country, so all the players must give their full effort from start to finish,” he added.

The qualifier between Malaysia and Hong Kong will take place at Hang Jebat Stadium on Tuesday evening. It will be the fourth Malaysia’s game under Vingada, and the Portuguese has to lead the Malayan Tigers to the first win at 2019 Asian Cup qualifier after suffering a 2-1 defeat against Lebanon in the opening match
