A-League’s side Perth Glory FC have completed the signing of Spanish midfielder Xavi Torres following on from his release from Sporting Gijon earlier this summer.
Torres had enjoyed a spell at Barcelona, where he featured regularly for the reserve team coached by Pep Guardiola and made his senior debut for the Catalan giants in 2009.
In Perth Glory, the 30-year-old joins fellow Spaniards Diego Castro and Andreu.
“I’m really excited to be here,” he said. “I have heard good things about the club and the league from Diego [Castro] and Kenny [Lowe] and now I want to win things with Perth Glory,” Torres said on Perth Glory official website.
