Thailand U-22 defender Worawut Namvech is confident that he and his team-mate can block the attacking force of Thanabalan Nadarajah in the SEA Games final on Tuesday.
Thanabalan has been the hero of Malaysia U-22 since his late-time header in the clash against Indonesia on Saturday gave the hosts a place in the final.
The Sisaket FC player said Thailand had played Malaysia a number of times during which Thanabalan was unable to make an impact.
“I am not worried about No 12 (Thanabalan) as we have faced him before and managed to control him,” said Worawut, as quoted by the New Straits Times.
“We have played Malaysia many times and beat them 3-0 last month in the AFC Cup in Bangkok.
“No 12 (Thanabalan) also played in that match and I blocked his every move.
“I am very confident I can do it again even though he has become very popular due to the goals he has scored at KL2017.”
