Former Thailand national team head coach Kiatisuk Senamuang believed the final Group B clash against heavy contenders Vietnam would be the “moment of truth” for Thailand U-22 team at this year’s SEA Games.
Discussing the strength of Thailand and Vietnam, Kiatisuk commented that it would be difficult for his compatriots to overcome their long-time rivals in the crucial match on Selayang Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
“I think it is not easy for Thailand U-22 to defend their gold medal,” the current Port FC coach told Tien Phong reporters.
“Head coach Worrawoot Srimaka has taken a serious preparation for his team in this tournament. Unfortunately, they had to face such a strong opponents as Indonesia in the opening match. The final group match against Vietnam will be difficult for them since Vietnam have proven to be a strong team this year,” he added.
On the other hand, Kiatisuk warned Worrawoot and his men about the attacking strength of Vietnam.
“If I have some words to tell Thailand team, I will tell them to stay alert of Cong Phuong. He’s Vietnam best player,” he said.
