Indonesia U-22 appeal against Evan Dimas’ ban rejected

Indonesia U-22 have failed in their appeal against Evan Dimas’ one-match suspension that rules him out of crucial SEA Games group stage game against Vietnam.

Evan Dimas was handed the punishment after receiving yellow card in a match against Timor Leste on las Sunday. He was being allegedly provoked by Filipe Oliveira.

Indonesia argued it could not be proved that the 22-year-old midfielder made any foul and accused the Malaysian referee Nagor Amir Bin Noor Mohamed was not fair in judgement.

Evan Dimas’ absence does matter for Luis Milla’s men as he is one of the most important player in the team.

The Young Garuda recorded a 1-1 draw against Thailand and two victory over Philippines 3-0 and Timor Leste 1-0 in their opening three games of Group B campaign.
