Thailand women’s football coach apologizes over Twitter outburst over hosts Malaysia

Thailand women’s football head coach Spencer Prior has to apologize for his Twitter outburst which complaints about the organization of hosts Malaysia.

According to Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, the misinformation about the training venue was actually the fault of Thailand team.

“I checked with (FA of Malaysia secretary-general) Datuk Hamidin (Mohd Amin) just now and he told me it was their fault,” said Khairy yesterday, as quoted by The New Straits Times.

“It was a miscommunication on their part because he didn’t check the training venue properly.”

On the other hand, Minister Khairy also confirmed that Thailand coach Prior apologized over his mince words on social media.

“He has apologized and he said it was his fault,” Khairy said.

On Monday, Prior complained that Malaysia SEA Games was “an unorganized tournament”, claiming his team were kicked off the pitch after only 15 minutes of training.

In addition, the British became furious as the venue was announced only three kilometers from the team’s hotel when the actual distance was 30km.
