Former Manchester United defender has joined Indian outfit Kerala Blasters for the upcoming season.
He has been welcomed to India by head coach Rene Meulensteen, who was part of the Manchester United coaching staff from 2001 to 2013.
Brown made the announcement himself through a tweet. “Hello India, Happy Independence day! I’m coming soon to the exciting Indian Super League to play for Kerala Blasters,” said Brown in a tweet, shortly after Kerala Blasters made the announcement.
The 37-year-old Brown, who spent 15 years at Manchester United, became a free agent last season after leaving his last Premier League club Blackburn.
It has been reported that Brown’s arrival also sparks further speculation of the Blasters completing the signing of his Manchester United team-mate, Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov.
