China U-20 team will take part in the German regional league next season, according to a project signed by the two countries.
Friedrich Curtius, the general secretary of the German Football Association (DFB), told local media that 16 out of 19 teams in the fourth tier of the German leagues have agreed to play with China U-20 on a regular basis.
The German league will also create a new ranking system for China U-20, and the results from matches with the Chinese team won’t be counted toward the rankings on the league table.
“This is a very unique and fabulous project even for the experienced 117-year-old association,” said Curtius
According to local media, the project is a part of the 10-year cooperation agreement signed between the leaders of the two sides.
