Indonesian youngster Ezra Walian on trial with West Ham United

Netherlands-born Indonesian striker Ezra Walian is currently on trial with English Premier League club West Ham United, according to CNN Indonesia.

The 19-year-old Walian has been called up to the Indonesia U-22 team in preparation for the upcoming SEA Games, but he won’t be able to attend training with his team-mates until the end of the trial period with the London club.

According to Indonesian media, West Ham will decide on whether him a contract or not on Tuesday. He will join his Indonesian team-mates in training on the next day.

Ezra Walian was born in Amsterdam to an Indonesian father. He joined the famed Jong Ajax academy in 2012 and has represented the Netherlands at youth levels. He is eligible to play for Indonesia at senior level.

Walian left Ajax at the end of his contract in the Summer. He is linked with a move to England, with Bolton Wanderers and Hull City reportedly interested in his service, before going on trial with West Ham United.
