Persib Bandung have announced the departure of former West Ham United star Carlton Cole by mutual consent on Friday.
The 33-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the Indonesian Liga 1 side since he was in a war of words with team manager Umuh Muchtar in recent weeks.
“We’d like to thank Rickie for his contribution and wish him the very best for the future,” read a statement on Persib’s official site.
Cole was on the verge of dismissal after his manager constantly said that ‘he plays very badly’ compared to other foreign players.
The former England international joined Persib in a ten-month deal in March, but has only appeared in five games without scoring any single goal during his stint in Bandung.
