Chanathip Songkrasin makes impressive debut for Consadole Sapporo

Thai footballer Chanathip Songkrasin made an impressive debut for Japanese club Consadole Sapporo in the Levain Cup match against Cerezo Osaka on Wednesday.

After going in from the bench at the start of the second half, Chanathip put some pressure on the defense of Osaka by creating a couple of chances for his teammates. He even created a long-range but was saved by opponents’ goalkeeper Kentaro Kakoi.

Unfortunately, the efforts of the 23-year-old midfielder could not help Consadole avoid a 1-0 loss, thus being eliminated with a 3-0 aggregate defeat.

Chanathip joined the J-League club last month on an 18-month loan deal from Thai League champions Muangthong United.

The Hokkaido-based are currently 15th in the Japanese top flight and one point above the relegation zone at the halfway stage of the season.
